National Argon Map

The National Argon Map (NAM) is an AuScope Opportunity supported Project with ANU Argon team, an Oversight Committee, and the Australian Argon Laboratories Network: ANU, Melbourne University, University of Queensland and Curtin University. Having the argon laboratories working as a network has been key to AuScope. NAM is providing an opportunity for researchers, students, and industry to explore 40Ar/39Ar as a geochronometer. Allowing the scientific community the opportunity to be exposed to a wide variation of scientific scenarios that this geochronometer can provide. The information provided by NAM is extensive in the geological context, the sample characterisation and report.
The map image of the NAM you see on the right here is your link into the National Argon Map. Click on this to enter, then click on an icon of interest in NAM for information on that sample. The list of projects below provide you with links to the original proposal, sample information and a final report with 40Ar/39Ar data.
